Food is such a great bringer of joy, of pleasure, of nourishment. My perspective is that food is medicine, not just in terms of the nutrients it provides, but also in the way it grounds us. Food is an incredible healer, it brings people together, sharing food lifts the soul.
I am in awe of families and in love with this special wondrous time. I love to express this through my cooking.
Through the perinatal period food can be challenging, however. How do you optimise nutrition for conception, stay nourished through morning sickness, cope with indigestion, manage a diagnosis of gestational diabetes, support your energies through labour and feel held and cared for as you enter into your postpartum phase?
My dishes are designed to meet you where you are at and provide you with the energy you need to thrive. From nourishing broths to hearty stews, unctuous brownies to bedside snacks to make the long nights that bit more bearable, I am here to help.
How does it work?
We have a call to discuss your situation and needs, how I can best support you and any dietary requirements you may have.
From there we decide how best to work together.
I can come to your house and batch cook, support you while the food is simmering away and leave your kitchen clean and your fridge full at the end of my visit.
Some clients enjoy a collaborative approach, in which I teach some postpartum recipes as I cook, so that the freezer is full and you have the skills and strategy to maintain this once your family expands. Added bonus- we can chat all things birth and postpartum as we work!
I also offer a service where I can cook in my own home and deliver meals to your doorstep for you to reheat or store in your freezer.
Investment for this is in line with my hourly rate. Minimum booking is 3 hours and clients pay for ingredients.
